Soulful. Raw. Powerful. Authentic. Visionary. These are only a few of the words used to describe Sandra Antongiorgi, a multi-dimensional artist with a passion for music, arts and education, deeply rooted in community and culture. An accomplished singer, songwriter and painter, Sandra’s life experience in Chicago and inherent talent have weaved together to produce a diverse and impressive body of work in the arts. Born into a musically driven Puerto Rican family, she began singing and playing guitar at the age of five. Her music, influenced by traditional Caribbean sounds, Soul, R&B, Rumba and Gitano, is her own distinctive expression of a World, Latin, Neo-Soul sound.

In addition to performing across the country, Sandra has opened for Wynonna Judd at the House of Blues in Chicago, world-renowned Gypsy Jazz multi-instrumentalist, Alfonso Ponticelli at Mayne Stage and later for Ryley Walker at Thalia Hall. More recently, Sandra had the high honor of opening for and singing alongside one of her musical idols, the gifted and accomplished Jazz/Blues/Soul/Gospel singer, Lizz Wright. In 2016, Antongiorgi headlined several intimate concerts in the Bay area as part of her Artist-in Residency for MACLA (Movimiento de Arte y Cultura Latino Americana). Her work has been featured on the “Latin Dragon” soundtrack and she recently had two original songs included on the critically acclaimed web series, “Brujos”.

Sandra’s talent also transcends her love of music. She launched a visual arts career at 15 years old, embracing a rare opportunity to study under illustrious and established muralists and artists. Her gifted use of paint and formation of concept has led to contributions to scores of murals dotting a city known for the character of its strong neighborhoods. Her work has been showcased in museums and exhibitions throughout Chicago, including the School of the Art Institute and the National Museum of Mexican Art. This year, Antongiorgi won the Chicago Readers’ "Best Mural of 2017" for “Weaving Cultures,” a mural collaboration with Sam Kirk, honoring underrepresented women, including a transgender Latina.

She is currently recording in Chicago and New York to finalize the release of her EP.
